The Fireball World Championship 2026

It was an unforgettable week on Tor Bay as the 2026 Fireball World Championship brought sailors from around the world to Royal Torbay Yacht Club.

As proud sponsors of the event, Wetsuit Outlet was delighted to support a week of high-level racing, challenging conditions and plenty of competition both on and off the water.

The championship delivered a mix of conditions throughout the week, with strong winds early on before lighter conditions brought a dramatic finish. The final day saw major changes across the leaderboard, with the podium reshuffled right up to the final race.

Congratulations to DJ Edwards and Vyv Townend, who secured the 2026 Fireball World Championship title after a consistently strong week of racing. Simon Kings and Jono Loe finished second, with Dave Wade and Iain Blake taking third overall.
A special mention also goes to Heather Macfarlane and Chris Payne, who finished the championship strongly with two race wins on the final day.

Beyond the racing, the week was a fantastic celebration of the Fireball class, with sailors of all ages and from across the world coming together. The strong atmosphere around the boat park and the influx of younger sailors highlighted the strength of the class and its future.

We're proud to have supported the 2026 Fireball World Championship and to have played a part in such a memorable week of sailing.

A huge congratulations to all the competitors, volunteers, race team and Royal Torbay Yacht Club for putting on an incredible event.
