Quiksilver - Between a Mountain and a Wave

Something special, something real. That’s Quiksilver.

This week we're turning our attention to Quiksilver, in preparation for a lot of new product arriving here at Wetsuit Outlet. To explain some of the reasons why we're offering such a range of Quiksilver wetsuits, we thought we'd start by explaining the background to this brand and why we think it's so great.

What makes Quiksilver tick?

The ‘original’ surf brand, as Quiksilver terms itself, has been at the forefront of technical performance since 1969 and is deeply rooted in the culture of board riding. Quiksilver’s inspiration comes from the ocean, captured in the raw style of its designs and channelled through continuous innovative development of its energetic wetsuit range.

There’s no denying form and function are high on the priority list. When you see the team of professional riders representing Quiksilver, you get a real sense of belief for the product too. Just look at 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater, who definitely pushed the limits of what was possible for Quiksilver within the surfing world when he was connected to the brand. Now, a new breed of surfers, including Kanoa Igarashi, Connor O’Leary, Leonardo Fioravanti, Zeke Lau, Mikey Wright and Jesse Mendes, are taking the sport to a whole new level with their ability and aggressive style.

No surprise then that Quiksilver wetsuits are designed for those who have pure stoke running deep within their veins.

Highline series wetsuits

Each Quiksilver wetsuit is developed to meet specific demands in warmth, weight, flexibility and price. The Highline series showcases ultimate performance by incorporating revolutionary lining and Far Infrared Heat Technology. Which works by transforming body heat into electromagnetic energy that generates warmth. Thus, allowing you to surf longer whilst improving blood flow and tissue oxygen supply for better performance. Other standout technical features include top of the range neoprene and the latest in seam, zip system, protection, adjustment and locking systems technology.

Essentially what Quiksilver have been able to do is create the warmest, most flexible high-performance wetsuit on the market, that strategically retains body heat whilst allowing complete freedom of movement. If you’re looking to perform at your best, you’re going to need a wetsuit that won’t hold you back. The Highline series is designed to meet the highest demands in wetsuit technology and will have you performing at your optimum level in any conditions.

Synchro series wetsuits

One performance level below, the Syncro series embraces high-end features at the best possible value. Using a take down from the Highline series, Warm Flight Far Infrared Heat thermal lining is placed in the chest and back Watershield to retain body heat. Furthermore, the wetsuit uses the same neoprene and seams that are reinforced with Liquid Flex Seal to reduce any cold-water leaks. For intermediate board riders looking to take their surfing to the next level, the Syncro series is built with 100% top-end features that will not only keep you warm and flexible, it won’t be a burden on your wallet either.

Somewhere between a mountain and a wave, Quiksilver stays true to what surfing is about, and progresses the sport through passion, performance and the latest wetsuit technology. Every single wave is unique, and conditions across the world vary dramatically, meaning equipment needs to be adaptive – a requirement embraced by Quiksilver's Highline and Syncro series. Did we say we like this kit?
